Cherenkov Telescope Array

The Cherenkov Telescope Array or “CTA” is the future largest project in ground-based gamma-ray astronomy. It is designed to work in the energy range from about 30 GeV to about 100 TeV.

The aim of CTA is to construct and operate about 100 Imaging Atmospheric Cherenkov Telescopes subdivided in two sites, one in the Northern hemisphere (in the Canary islands) and one in the Southern hemisphere (in Chile). The official webpages of the project can be found here.
